There have been countless times where I’ve seen my children use the power of prayer at the abortion mill, when we are ministering as a family. We are training them to rise up and “set an example” for other believers (1 Timothy 4:12) and to “live a Godly life in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 3). Because of that training, we should expect to see this fruit come forth from their godly actions, right? So, why is it that I am so surprised when God answers their prayers at the mill? Why am I so shocked when I see something only God can do - time and again - happen right before my eyes? I have “little faith”, while my children’s/teen’s faith is a faith that can move small mountains!
This past summer, while ministering at the abortion clinic, our children prayed for ungodly music to stop that was being played by an abortion-minded father in order to drown us out and discourage those who were reaching out to these women. Within 2 minutes of the children starting to pray, the music started fading in and out. Then, it STOPPED completely - all within 4 minutes. Immediately after they received that miracle, did they stop? No! They turned their prayers in the direction of the bodyguards who are meant to distract us and keep us drowned out with their rap music. Within minutes of their prayers, their music, too, went in and out and stopped for a time. This was not the only time that this would happen, either!
Trey (above - at the time, told me that he was going to pray that the bodyguard’s sound system would break down when they were playing some nasty rap music. I told him that was great, but me being “oh ye of little faith” thought it was a sweet, but somewhat childish request. Not 5 minutes later, the bouncer’s car broke down and needed to be jumped by the other bouncer! It was off for a solid 15 minutes or so. After seeing my shocked reaction, Trey responded with, “Well, that *is* what I prayed for, Mommy!” To have a child-like faith like that…wow!
Today was no different. As we were ministering to mamas going in with the intentions of having their babies killed, another abortion-minded father with two toddlers in the car decided to open his doors and play some foul music. I motioned to the children what was going on and they quickly came over to kneel on the sidewalk and pray, with hands lifted toward this father. Sure enough, not seconds later, the music faded in and out and the father turned it off! As before, they directed their prayers to the bouncers, whose music started doing the same thing! The only thing another mama and I could say was, “JESUS!” His presence was there! The results of our children’s prayers were evident to all present! All we could utter was Jesus’ Holy name!
Are you acting on your faith?
Matthew 8:26 “And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.”
