January 22, 2016 marks the 43rd anniversary of one of the most controversial decisions in the history of our supreme court. As you probably know that decision made in the infamous trial of Roe Vs. Wade opened the door to nation wide abortion on demand becoming a basic right to every women. From that decision and justified by that decision 58,000,000 babies have lost their lives inside the womb. In Charlotte alone approximately 7,200 babies lost their lives last year. These are staggering numbers so much so that it’s even hard to wrap our minds around the implications of such a large scale loss of precious lives. Think of all of the individuals with unique destinies, calling, and purposes that this world will never have the pleasure of meeting. Because of this we have for the last few years held a public memorial service for the unborn whose lives have been extinguished before they are born in our nation and our city. However this is more than a public memorial service for lives lost but also a time to celebrate lives that were on the edge of destruction but snatched from the jaws of death. Last year we saw 547 moms choose LIFE at the abortion clinics in Charlotte though many more lives were lost this is a great victory for the church as she shows up at these places of death to bring the Gospel and proclaim LIFE.

Please join us as we pray, share, and worship Jesus on January 22, 2016 at the intersection of Trade and Tryon in Uptown Charlotte from 12pm-1pm. This is not a protest but a public acknowledgment of our nation, city, and church’s guilt but also a public declaration that when God’s people humble themselves and pray and seek His face and turn from their wicked ways He will hear from heaven and bring healing to our land 2 Chronicles 7:14.

 

You will hear testimonies from people engaged on the frontlines in fighting for LIFE in our city as well as testimonies from moms who chose LIFE for their babies. We’ll also be joined by David Benham who will share a word of encouragement of what God can do when the church rises up and breathes LIFE into a city.
