This January marks the 40th anniversary of abortion being legal in the United States. Since then at least 54 million babies have been killed. On a national level this number can seem so abstract, impersonal, and removed. However looking at the statistics for abortion in North Carolina it is a wake-up call and a realization of the mass killings happening every day in our state. In North Carolina, 17% of pregnancies end in abortion and we are ranked 7th in the nation in number of abortions preformed per year. These sickening and saddening facts should motivate us to action. As we close the year 2012, let us commit to pray that the 31 abortion mills in North Carolina will be closed and let us commit to an active role in making that happen.
