What Would You Say to…Laura?

Cities4Life wants the “What Would You Say” posts to be as interactive as possible. Not only is this good practice for thinking on your feet during everyday encounters you might have with people who oppose your worldview, but it is also good training for those who want to do Frontline Ministry outside of abortion mills. Remember that Scripture is what addresses the root of these problems.

What Would YOU Say to Laura?

“My husband and I have gone back and forth about our decision. We already have two kids and were not planning on having a third. He is actually scheduled to have a vasectomy next month. We are in the process of building our house to raise our two kids in. We had originally decided to keep it, but then changed our minds. We had our life planned to raise our two kids and be happy. We decided to terminate the pregnancy and it is scheduled for next Thursday the 11th.” ~ Laura

Laura, “it” is your son or daughter! He or she is already here, already a brother to your other two children, already a granddaughter to your parents. And God has plans for that little girl or boy. Sometimes we have to let God’s plans interrupt our plans. When we hold our fist tight around our plans, thinking we’ll keep bad things out, we’re also keeping good things out, good things like this little baby God has given you. How generous God was to squeeze in this little gift before you permanently took matters into your own hands with a vasectomy!! God values people over things; He has from the very beginning when He called all of his creation ‘good’ but man and woman ‘VERY good.’ Laura, don’t choose drywall and square footage over your son or daughter. Don’t choose death for your little one because of your own wants. Your new baby is God’s blessing on your life; do not exchange it for a curse.
